Thanks to support from many family and friends, The Denny 2012 was a great success. The weather cooperated and the turnout was the best yet. The highlight of the evening reception was the posthumous presentation of the Legacy Foundation's Caring for the Community Award to Cory Blanchette, formerly a coach and teacher at Manteno High School. Cory's family accepted the award on his behalf. We also hear some good news about a recent breakthrough in ALS research. Last year Northwestern University researchers discovered a common cause of all forms of ALS, meaning there can be a common target for drug therapy. We pray this progress continues and that effective treatment and cure are not far behind.
